Choose the task before writing the query
The same product needs different searches at different stages. Decide what you need the next result to do.
Use the product type, material, shape, color, or use case to find possible directions.
Add the exact missing evidence: measurements, QC photos, model number, interior, sole, or source link.
Keep the category fixed and add the single feature that separates the candidates.
Add weight, packed dimensions, or shipping context, then label the result as a planning input.
Begin broad, then name the missing detail
“CNGoodsBuy spreadsheet” is a reasonable first search when you do not yet know what is available. Once you see the kinds of rows it returns, add the product and the one detail you still need.
For example, change a broad search into “hoodie measured chest,” “bag interior dimensions,” or “shoes outsole and insole length.” The shorter search is often the clearer one.
Add the source only when it helps
Yupoo
Useful when a visual album or catalog is part of the trail. Check whether the album identifies the item and variation.
Taobao
Useful for checking current options or finding the marketplace listing behind a saved row.
Weidian
Useful when you need to confirm that the source matches the row label, variation, and visible price.
1688
Useful for supplier-oriented listings, quantity options, and product details that may be less retail-focused.
A source name tells you where to look. It does not tell you whether the item, seller, or listing is reliable.
Turn a source into a useful question
Do not add a marketplace name unless it narrows the result. Pair it with the product and the detail you need to confirm.
| What you need | Example search | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Marketplace listing | hoodie Weidian original link | The final domain, item identifier, variation, and current page details. |
| Visual catalog | bag Yupoo album item code | Whether the album identifies the same item and variation as the saved row. |
| Supplier detail | nylon crossbody 1688 dimensions | Quantity, material, size, options, and whether the page is still current. |
| Current retail options | jacket Taobao size chart | The selected option, measurements, price, and details shown on the live page. |
If a sheet was made for another service
A service name in the title does not prove that the sheet is official, current, safe, or compatible with the service you plan to use. Check who maintains it, when the rows were updated, and whether the links still lead to the products described.
Converted links may depend on a particular website. Preserve the original Taobao, Weidian, 1688, or catalog URL whenever it is available; that source is usually more useful than the name attached to the sheet.
Keep the product trail. Record the source domain, item identifier, variation, and the date you checked it. Those details are easier to verify later than a copied title.
Choose text or image search
Use text when you can name the product, material, shape, or feature. Use an image when a photo is your only clue, then confirm the source, variation, measurements, and condition before treating the match as useful.
Two listings can look alike while using different materials, sellers, or versions. An image match creates a candidate; it does not finish the check.
Search by category
Start with one item type—shoes, hoodie, bag, watch, or accessory—so the results can be judged by similar questions.
For clothing, add “measurements” or “size chart” when fit is the concern. For electronics, name the model, compatibility issue, or feature you need to confirm. The category guide explains what to check before clicking.
Search for the evidence you are missing
If you need photos, name the exact view: “bag interior and base” is more useful than “more QC photos.” If fit is unclear, ask for the measurement and method rather than another size label.
Weight and shipping results are planning inputs. Record the units and assumptions, and do not treat a calculator result as an official quote or final charge.
Check converted and original links
A link converter reformats a source URL for another service. This website does not provide one, and a converted address should still lead to the expected item and variation.
“Raw link” and “original link” usually mean the underlying marketplace or catalog URL. Preserve that address when possible, inspect the destination domain, and make sure the item identifier and selected option have not changed.
Do not paste account, payment, or personal details into an unverified converter. Converting a product URL should not require private order information.
Repair the query instead of making it longer
When a search fails, change one part at a time. This makes it easier to see which term improved the results.
| Problem | Change | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Too broad | Add one category and one decision detail. | “CNGoodsBuy bag interior dimensions” |
| Too promotional | Remove “best,” “cheap,” “safe,” and “must buy.” | “CNGoodsBuy hoodie measured chest length” |
| Wrong products | Search by material, shape, or use case instead of brand. | “small nylon crossbody bag zipper interior” |
| Missing source | Add one platform term or “original link.” | “CNGoodsBuy Weidian shoes original link” |
| Photos lack detail | Name the exact view you need. | “CNGoodsBuy sneakers QC outsole heel” |
| No useful results | Remove one fragile modifier before adding synonyms. | Keep “jacket measurements”; remove an uncertain model name. |
Use a four-step search loop
Ask one question
Write the product and the missing evidence in plain language.
Open only three useful results
Ignore pages that cannot answer the question without more guessing.
Record the new uncertainty
The next query should be based on what remains unclear, not on more promotional vocabulary.
Stop when the answer can be checked
Move to the checklist once you have comparable candidates and a specific evidence request.
Bad search habits to avoid
- Stacking “best,” “cheap,” “safe,” and “verified” into one query
- Searching by hype before deciding the product category
- Opening many results without recording the original question
- Treating a source name as evidence of quality
- Using a calculator result as a guaranteed shipping cost
A practical next step is to open the main guide, pick a category, then use the row checklist and weight guide.
